Planting<\/strong>
\nWater lilies prefer rich, clay-like soil; sandy bottoms are not suitable for them. In a natural pond, they can be planted directly into the mud at a depth of at least 50 cm, where the bottom does not freeze in winter. If the pond freezes completely during the winter, the water lily should be removed in autumn along with the planting basket<\/a> and placed in an appropriate wintering location. A dark cellar with low temperature is ideal.
