Nymphaea Charlene Strawn is a very large water lily. Its numerous star-shaped pale yellow blooms rise above the water surface. The leaves, like those of other yellow or orange-flowered water liles, are green with brown spots. This water lily tolerates partial shade, and in sunny locations, the flowers remain open even in the late afternoon.

Features
* Flower color: pale yellow
* Flowers: numerous 14 cm star-shaped blooms rising above the water surface
* Leaves: 16–20 cm, green with decorative reddish-brown spots
* Plant spread: 3 m2
* Water depth: 40 – 80 cm
* Nymphaea Charlene Strawn prefers a sunny growing spot (at least 5–6 hours of light daily). It blooms from June to September and is well-suited for small ponds or tubs. Removing deadhead blooms and yellowed leaves helps keep the water cleaner.

Planting
Water lilies prefer rich, clay-like soil; sandy bottoms are not suitable for them. In a natural pond, they can be planted directly into the mud at a depth of at least 50 cm, where the bottom does not freeze in winter. If the pond freezes completely during the winter, the water lily should be removed in autumn along with the planting basket and placed in an appropriate wintering location. A dark cellar with low temperature is ideal. The plant should be placed in a water-filled container, its leaves removed, and regularly checked throughout the winter to ensure it has enough water, adding more as needed.
