An air stone disk for pond or pool aeration
Excessive phytoplankton growth creates hypoxia (oxygen depletion) in the deeper layers of the pond. The 21.6 cm air stone disc connected to an air pump ensures effective oxygen enrichment in the pond or pool. Aeration prevents the formation of anaerobic zones and the unpleasant odor of hydrogen sulfide. Additionally, the bubbles help prevent oxygen loss in the water during the summer due to temperature rise. During the winter periods, the bubbles bring warmer water from the bottom of the pond to the top, preventing pond from freezing and allowing overwintering fish to survive until spring.
The air stone disc is easy and convenient to use, as it sinks to the bottom on its own without the need for additional weights. When tossing the stone into the pond, it may land upside down, causing large and irregular bubbles to rise to the surface. In such cases, lift the stone out of the water and try again. The bubbles coming from the bottom should be regular and small.
The optimal depth for placing the air stone is 1 – 1.5 meters.
